God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult. Selah There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. (Psalm 46:1-4)
The world is impacted by COVID-19 and the news is alarming, as the rates of infection and death soar. We at All Girls Allowed are in prayer for our world, our leaders, and all people, particularly those who are most vulnerable.
But we are not afraid because we trust the words of the psalmist in Psalm 46. God is our shelter in danger. We find safety and courage by trusting God. While the psalmist was being hyperbolic as he spoke of potential world calamities, our reality is without hyperbole. COVID-19 has been a world changing, mountain trembling occurrence, as we self-isolate for safety.
Yet while we are physically separated, we recognize the great potential for community through virtual connectivity. Online communities have been in existence for decades; however, the spread of COVID-19 has moved many to embrace the possibilities, particularly for online learning. This was always our vision for the Joyful Life program.
Joyful Life is an innovative platform that provides curated content from emerging and engaging influencers to help participants realize a joyful life. Through the seven tracks of the Joyful Life program, we believe that people will come to faith and personally experience the joyful, abundant life promised to believers in Jesus Christ.
The pilot course, “8 Weeks to a Better Marriage,” launched on April 6 to much success. Based on that confirmation, we anticipate launching the full course in June with more content planned for development in subsequent months.
Beyond our desire to keep you informed, we pray that God will continue to bless you in these extraordinary times. And echoing the words of the psalmist, remember, the Lord of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
