Prayer Update #35 - 3/25/11
Dear AGA Prayer Warriors,
Greetings as spring equinox just passed and days are now getting longer than nights! In the same way, we see a light dawning in China--continue to join us as we pray that the light would overwhelm the darkness!
1) 40 Days of Prayer for China's Girls and Mothers - We continue to receive positive feedback about our 40 Days of Prayer devotionals, which are sent daily with reflections on Scripture and prayers for China. Thank you to those of you who have joined us in praying for China's girls and mothers! If you are interested in receiving brief daily updates, please e-mail Brian.
2) Host A Prayer Vigil During Lent! - During this season of Lent, we are encouraging all of our prayer supporters to consider holding a prayer vigil for China's girls and mothers. It is an excellent opportunity to gather brothers and sisters in Christ to lift up those who are suffering under China's One-Child Policy. All Girls Allowed has already written a prayer liturgy to be used for such an occasion, for a vigil that lasts approximately 30-40 minutes. Please check it out here! If you plan to host a vigil, please contact Brian and let us know, so that we can be encouraged. If you also have pictures, feel free to send them in and we will enthusiastically post them on our site.
3) The 6th Campaign - All Girls Allowed is excited that we are launching a campaign to engage college students about the gendercide in China! The campaign, called 'The 6th' because in China every 6th girl is missing and every 6th boy will be single, uses hot-pink t-shirts to visually symbolize the 6th person and begin conversations with fellow classmates. Check out the 6th Campaign's page on our website here. If you are interested in launching a campaign on your campus, please let us know! Please pray for the AGA team as we are going to be launching our first The 6th campaign at Northeastern University at an event this Tuesday evening.
4) Major Donor Partnerships - Currently, All Girls Allowed is operating on very generous gifts from many individuals. Thank you all for your financial support, which makes our work possible! We are looking to grow our programs as we approach our 1-year anniversary on June 1st, and we are praying that God would raise up major donors who would be willing to partner with us to expand our impact on the ground in China, as well as our advocacy work here in the U.S. Please join us in praying for this task! We have found some prospective donors are hesitant to partner directly because our work may appear too sensitive, so please pray that God would move their hearts to compassion for China's girls and mothers!
5) Health - In the past week, several of our team members and their loved ones have been hit with coordinated bouts of sickness. Please pray that the Lord's healing hand would be upon our team, and that we would persevere in our work. Pray for encouraging words for our team, as we sometimes find our words falling on deaf or closed ears; pray that the Lord would be our portion and that we would trust him for this mission that he has given us!
Thank you for your invaluable prayers, which are making a tangible difference as God continues to bring his salvation and redemption to the people of China! The Lord be with you.
in Christ,
the All Girls Allowed team
