Please pray for 13-year-old Ying from our Orphan Care Program. Her mother left her when she was ten after her parents divorced. Ying now lives with her father, grandparents, and aunt (who has epilepsy). Ying's father, who used to work as a driver to provide for the family, had a car accident in June 2013. He is about to have his second surgery, but the family is unable to afford its cost. The family has already been spending 7 to 8 thousand yuan ($1100 - 1300) per month on medicine alone. As a result, they are shouldering a debt of more than 30 thousand yuan ($4800). Ying's family now relies on her grandfather to make a living by picking up odd jobs here and there. Every day, he leaves home at 2:00 am and works for more than 10 hours, recieving merely 70-80 ($11-13) yuan in return. Whenever our field workers visit Ying, her grandmother is in tears because of the family's desperate situation.
Mrs. Li is a mother who enrolled in the Baby Shower Program this March and she is expected to give birth this August. Our workers have spent a lot of time sharing the Gospel with her and praying for her. After our workers' second visit, Mrs. Li was willing to accept Christ Jesus as her Savior! She wanted to go to church the following day, but was she couldn't because she was having pain in her foot. Now that she has entered late-stage pregnancy, it is difficult for her to leave her house. There is a statue of an idol in her house that she once worshiped in the hope of receiving good health, and this may be a stronghold over her house. Please pray that the Lord would give her the determination to destroy this idol physically and spiritually so that her house and mind can be completely cleansed.
A couple who works for All Girls Allowed in China is organizing a sharing session early next month for some of the families who have graduated from the Baby Shower Program. Around five families have decided to participate and the couple has also invited another worker of ours to come and share her testimony. The topics of the event will revolve around sexual purity and the harmful effects of abortion.
This is a wonderful opportunity to share the Choose Life Message with these families and invite Jesus to open their hearts and minds to Him. Please pray that the Lord would prepare the hearts of our field workers and the participating families and that He would watch over the security of the event venue.
We recently recieved news that one of our brothers in China went to the hospital with a severe stomach ache and learned that he has kidney stones. The stones are very painful, and while the hospital gave him painkillers that have helped a little bit, he is seeking a larger hospital that can give him more complete care.
Please pray that God would heal our brother and give him rest and refreshment.
Sister Wu was struggling with her pregnancy because the wound from her previous c-section had not properly healed and her baby was causing the wound to hurt. Doctors were not sure that Sister Wu could carry her baby full term because of this, but a few days ago she delivered a healthy baby boy via c-section. Both the mother and child are doing well and Sister Wu says "thank you for your prayers!"
