Sister Hui (47), was registered in August and she is a Christian. She and her husband are remarried and have a 7-year-old son together. Their relationship, however, is not doing well and he resists her faith. Hui is now about four months pregnant through an unwanted pregnancy. Not only is she pregnant by accident, but she is also pregnant at an old age. Her husband is only considering this pregnancy from an economic standpoint and worries that they will not be able to raise the child. He also worries that they would become the laughingstock of the town because of his wife’s unexpected pregnancy at old age, so he insists on abortion. During this time, her husband has threatened to leave her, and does not care about much about Hui’s livelihood. Instead, everyday he insists that she have an abortion. Hui’s family, relatives, friends, and neighbors all try to persuade her to have an abortion, but she knows not to shed innocent blood, and insists on keeping the child.

In the meantime, our co-workers call her every day to give her comfort and encouragement, and visit her to support her decision. Through the prayers and intercession of our brothers and sisters, and Hui’s insistence on praying every day, God has finally made a breakthrough in her home!

During a local coworkers meeting on September 23, 2014, they prayed for Hui’s family. They later learned, that on the morning of the same day, Hui’s husband once again was trying to force her into abortion. However, their son walked into the room and bravely confronted his father saying, “I want the baby in my mom’s tummy to be born because I am lonely!” The husband was stunned for a moment and then said, “Let me think about it.” It has now been about two weeks since that day and he has not brought up the subject of abortion again, and his attitude towards Hui has changed as well.

Praise God, for the prayers of the righteous are powerful and effective. As long as we ask in faith, our God is always righteous, holy, and faithful. We believe God is a God of miracles and he has done great things with merciful grace. Recently, our co-workers called Hui and learned that she is safe, and her family is living in better harmony.

We give all the glory to God! If we just offer up our burdens to Him, we will be able to enjoy His abundant grace and experience a peace beyond human understanding. We believe God has a will for Hui and that the Holy Spirit will move her husband to bring him know the Lord. The Lord is the only true God and He is the living God! All who are willing to believe in him will be saved! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Pray for favor on this family and that God continues to tenderize the father's heart. May he begin to love and cherish his baby and have more intimacy and understanding with his wife and son.

Update: Praise our amazing God who hears our prayers: we received a phone call from Ya and she said that her family has been worried about her living on own her own. They found her and brought her home. She is very grateful for the help our ministry give her and we are planning to visit her soon.

Pray that God continues to watch over Ya, the baby in her belly, and her one year old son. We hope our coworkers can understand her situation more when they go visit her, and hope God gave reveal to them a better way to serve and love her.

Original Prayer Request: Last month, our coworkers registered a very young mother, Ms. Ya, who is only 18 years old. She has a husband who is 20 years old and works away from home, and together they have a one year old son. She realized she was pregnant last month, and is about four month pregnant now. They live in the mountains in a remote village, and their family is very poor. Ya’s husband does not take care of his family, even though he works he has never sent them money. Ya has no education and does not use the telephone to communicate.

Her husband’s mother died when he was very young, and he was brought up by his father. A few years ago his father was working in construction and had an accident causing him injury to his feet. After physical therapy, the father’s feet could not be healed, so he is disabled and their family is extremely poor. Last month, when our workers went to visit them, there was only had Ya, her father-in-law, and Yah’s one year old son at home. Other than those three people, the have no one else.

When we looked again at Ya’s registration papers, we noticed in one of the photos that there were many bottles of alcohol in her home. This led our hearts to feel uneasy about Ya’s situation. Considering she lived

alone with her son and father in law, with no mother and husband by her side, it is very likely that her father in law is an alcoholic. Therefore, we asked some coworkers to visit her and try to understand Ya’s situation, to understand if her environment is safe.

Yesterday we received our coworker’s reply as follows:

Two day ago we had some coworkers go visit Ya in her home. We were planning on bringing her their monthly allowance and increase it from 100 yuan to 250 yuan. However, it was only until we reached Ya’s village that we realized she had already ran away from home. Our coworkers found out from her neighbors that her husband does not care at all for his family and spends his time drinking and gambling. Her father in law is also the same, he plays mahjong, gambles, and drinks. We heard that her older brother is in college and her younger sister is also studying; she may have decided to marry early because of this.

We also heard that, last month, after our workers visited Ya, her father in law pressured her into giving him her monthly allowance. He then gave the money to his own niece, so Ya and her son were unable to use any of the money. Unhappy with her situation, Ya left home to find work in the city, leaving her son behind with her father in law. It has already been a few weeks since anyone has heard any news from her.

Currently, we are very worried that Ya may abort her child, but also worried that even if she does not choose to abort her baby, her living situation would be difficult. Meanwhile, she left her son at home where he is bound to be subject to a great deal of emotional hurt and feelings of abandonment.

Update: Lin had abortion last June due to poverty. Soon she was pregnant again and our workers enrolled her in our program. After her family found out through the ultrasound that she was pregnant with a girl, her husband and father in law were upset and asked her to abort the baby. After our worker talked with her, telling her the harm of abortion and that it is a sin, they persuaded her to keep the baby. One and half month ago, Lin gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! Our worker visited Lin's family recently, saw the whole family was happy, everybody loves the girl, including the father and father-in-law! Praise God!

Pray that God continues to work on the hearts of everyone in this family and that His love prospers.

Original Prayer Request: Please pray for Lin, a mother who courageously decided to keep her baby last year despite having aborted her previous pregnancy. Recently, Lin had an ultrasound and found out that she was pregnant with a girl. Both her husband and her father-in-law want her to abort the baby, but she wants to keep her child. Please pray for God to soften the hearts of her husband and father-in-law so they will change their minds and allow Lin to keep her baby. God can save this precious life!

A Prayer for Ying and Her Family

Please pray for 13-year-old Ying from our Orphan Care Program. Her mother left her when she was ten after her parents divorced. Ying now lives with her father, grandparents, and aunt (who has epilepsy). Ying's father, who used to work as a driver to provide for the family, had a car accident in June 2013. He is about to have his second surgery, but the family is unable to afford its cost. The family has already been spending 7 to 8 thousand yuan ($1100 - 1300) per month on medicine alone. As a result, they are shouldering a debt of more than 30 thousand yuan ($4800). Ying's family now relies on her grandfather to make a living by picking up odd jobs here and there. Every day, he leaves home at 2:00 am and works for more than 10 hours, recieving merely 70-80 ($11-13) yuan in return. Whenever our field workers visit Ying, her grandmother is in tears because of the family's desperate situation.

Mother Accepts Christ, Still Battling Idolatry

Mrs. Li is a mother who enrolled in the Baby Shower Program this March and she is expected to give birth this August. Our workers have spent a lot of time sharing the Gospel with her and praying for her. After our workers' second visit, Mrs. Li was willing to accept Christ Jesus as her Savior! She wanted to go to church the following day, but was she couldn't because she was having pain in her foot. Now that she has entered late-stage pregnancy, it is difficult for her to leave her house. There is a statue of an idol in her house that she once worshiped in the hope of receiving good health, and this may be a stronghold over her house. Please pray that the Lord would give her the determination to destroy this idol physically and spiritually so that her house and mind can be completely cleansed.
