A Letter of Thanks for AGA Support

AGA Field Report
December 22, 2010

When he came to Haizijie to receive Baby Shower Assistance for his granddaughter, Hou Shendi said that although 100 yuan a month seemed small, it was such timely relief for his granddaughter.  It not only enabled better nutrition for her but also gave him peace of mind. For this he wanted us to write a letter of thanks for him, to thank the good-hearted people on the other side of the sea who donated to help.

Mr. Hou said that the Baby Shower Project couldn’t be more different from the government. No officials, no rubber stamps were needed. There were never any “gifts” or privileges for powerful people’s relatives.

To express her gratitude, the aunt of two girls in Heguantun Village collected two pounds of chestnuts from the family tree to give to the AGA workers as a gift. Another family (pictured) gave a decorative cactus plant as gift. While staff tried to refuse many times to no avail, the said it was home-grown so it didn’t cost any money. They thought they were not cultured, unable to send any message to the person who funded the Baby Shower Project. The plant was a small token of thanks to All Girls Allowed's donors.
