AGA Prayer News Alert - Chai Ling with First Lady & Secretary Clinton – 3/8/11

Dear AGA Prayer Warriors,

Chai Ling held a press conference along with Congressman Chris Smith and other women's rights activists yesterday in honor of International Women's Day.  We praise God for all the great media coverage that All Girls Allowed received, as Ling spoke about the progress that China has made in the last 100 years in championing women's rights, and the work that remains to be done as the One-Child Policy strips women of life, value and dignity.  Join us as we give thanks to our Father for arranging for the opportunity to speak to the media about this issue!

Ling was invited yesterday to attend an event today that will be hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.  The All Girls Allowed team is praying that God would open up opportunities for Ling to speak with them about the plight of 1/5 of the world's women.  We believe that the First Lady and the Secretary of State must act to change these awful statistics about China's women:

-500 female suicides each day

-more female suicides than male suicides (the only country in the world)

-suicide is the #1 cause of death for women aged 15-34

-35,000 coerced and forced abortions performed on women each day

Unfortunately, the list goes on.  (To see more statistics about women's rights in China, click here.)  Join with AGA as we pray on Women's Day that the two most influential women in our government hear the cries of China's women.  Pray that God would encourage the international press and media to highlight the gendercide that is happening in China today.  A Chinese woman will be honored at today's event; please pray that she would hear the cries of her people and be sympathetic to the millions of women in her country who lack the basic life, value and dignity they deserve.

Thank you for your prayers!  We will be sending out Ling's remarks shortly, along with an invitation to join us for 40 Days of Prayer for China's girls and mothers during the Lenten season.  Blessings!

     in Christ,

     the All Girls Allowed team
